CLASS INFORMATION:

In this amazing class, kids will learn how to develop a mobile-friendly and interactive application, design analytical challenges and use Google tools to create spectacular designs.

Kids will learn all about UI (User Interface) and UX (User Experience) and build an app that will help solve real-world problems like pollution and bullying.

CURRICULUM:

1. Brainstorm Ideas & Calculate Screen Size

Before you dive in and start developing your amazing app, we are going to look at ways to plan your app outline.

In this section, you are going to explore with a variety of brainstorming tools to create an outline for your very own mobile application.

We will also explore with aspect ratio / screen display size using the Omni Calculator, learn all about hyperlinking and creating live buttons and more.

2. Explore with Graphic Design

Aesthetics is a core design principle that defines a design’s pleasing qualities.

In this section, you will explore with design elements to make your app stand out. This includes:

Line
Shape
Colour
Texture
Space
Typography

We are also going to explore with FREE design tools that you can use to create impactful designs, including creating and exporting logos with transparent backgrounds using Google Drawings!

3. Time to Build Your App!

In this section, you are going to start building your application using your brainstorming ideas and the designs you created in Canva and Google Drawings.

We will supply you with exciting scenarios that will help you develop an application that will create positive change in the lives of your targeted users.

During the app development stage, you will explore with strategy, analysis, UI (User Interface) / UX (User Experience) and create app mockups and testing.

After you have finished developing your app, we will show you how to create an app shortcut on your mobile device and how to share your application with users.

4. Get Your Certificate!

We all love being rewarded for our hard work! At the end of this class, you are going to complete a short quiz challenge.

Once you have passed the challenge, you will receive a cool Bravespace Academy certificate!

Hello! I am Frankie Cilliers, founder of 🚀 Bravespace Academy. My education career stretches over 11 years. From being a principal, teacher, marketing manager and entrepreneur, I have always made it my mission to make an impactful change in the lives of kids!

I have always believed that education should not only be limited to the classroom – we should be pioneers in schools and beyond!

I have a passion for empowering kids through innovative thinking. My mission is to help kids realise their true potential and help them solve problems through creative thinking. FAQs

1. What do I need to attend your classes?

All our live classes are conducted online in small groups using cutting-edge virtual learning tools. Your child will need access to a computer with a built-in microphone and webcam, as well as a strong internet connection.

Some classes require additional resources like pens and paper, however, our classes are designed with everyday materials in mind, especially stuff commonly found around the house.

Should your child be required to make use of a third-party tool like an app or website, steps on how to install / access the platform will be explained during the class.

2. Can I change the dates / times of classes?

All our classes are conducted live, therefore dates / times cannot be changed. We believe that by providing live classes, our students are able to actively take part in the lessons, ask questions and provide feedback. Once students register, they commit to completing the class on the specified days and times.

Our classes are presented throughout the year – we encourage parents and students to keep an eye on our website for future dates if they are not able to complete a class on the stipulated dates / times.

3. How can I follow up on my child's progress?

After each class, students complete a short quiz challenge or do a practical assignment. When they pass these challenges, students will receive a cool Bravespace Academy certificate as evidence. Parents are also welcome to contact our academy via email: hello@bravespaceacademy.com

4. How does payment and registration work?

Simply complete the registration form on each class page or click / tap on any of the ‘REGISTER NOW’ buttons. After completing the class registration form, you will be redirected to our Payment Confirmation page.

5. What about the online safety of my child?

We create online learning experiences that are safe and empowering for kids. Safety and privacy are paramount as learning and creativity can’t happen unless everyone feels safe.

Our online classes can only be joined by students who have registered for the course. We do not allow anyone over 18 to join our online classes.

Our Bravespace Captains answer students’ questions, and provide encouraging feedback.

Our team consists of qualified and passionate educators with diverse backgrounds and experience in education. These incredible Bravespace Captains believe in creating positive change in the lives of students by equipping them with super future-ready skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, innovation and more!

LIVE · ENGAGING · SAFE!

None of our lessons are pre-recorded. All our classes are conducted LIVE in small groups. This makes the learning experience more engaging and enables students to ask questions. Parents are also updated on their child’s progress.

Instead of being a couch potato, we encourage out-of-this-world screen time! All of our lessons are super fun, hands-on and presented by highly-qualified teachers with international experience.

Our goal is to provide students a safe and innovative learning space. All our ‘Captains’ (teachers) have been thoroughly screened. Our classes also offer an ad-free experience and a space where we encourage braveness.

Students learn new skills in an engaging and collaborative world-class virtual learning environment. After students have enrolled in one of our classes, they will receive a class welcome email with details that explains everything they need to know, including how to access our online classes.

Our students don’t simply learn content, but truly explore with it. They actively take part in classes by completing challenges, sharing ideas and having discussions. We not only equip students with theoretical knowledge, but also empower them with future-ready skills through a variety of exciting hands-on projects. Students also receive resources after each course, including interactive notes and other great resources.

ACHIEVE

We all love being rewarded for our hard work! At the end of each class, students will complete fun assessments in their own time. This includes quizzes, engaging challenges and fascinating projects. Once students have completed all the assessments, they will receive a cool class certificate!
